CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) - Three of the four full-season affiliates of the Cleveland Indians will be led by different managers in 2014.

On Friday, the Tribe announced the staff alignment for their internal player development system – including the revelation of the minor league coaching staff at every level.

The lone manager to return to the same post next season is Chris Tremie of the Triple-A Columbus Clippers. Tremie is entering his second year as the Columbus skipper after leading the club to a 71-73 record in 2013.

He is entering his ninth year in the organization.

Former Indians’ farmhands David Wallace and Scooter Tucker will advance a level within the team’s system.

Wallace moves to Double-A Akron while Tucker shifts to Class-A Carolina. Both keep their respective coaching staffs intact.

That includes former Indians’ pitcher Steve Karsay who will serve as Tucker’s pitching coach at Carolina.

Wallace was a staff assistant for the Major League club in 2009-10 and managed the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and the Lake County Captains (2011-12) before joining the Mudcats last season.

As for Tucker, the former Major League catcher made his coaching debut as a hitting coach for the Mudcats in 2012 and served as the skipper of the Lake County Captains last season.

Mark Budzinski, also a former player in the Tribe’s minor leagues, will make his professional coaching debut as the manager of the Class-A Lake County Captains.

Budzinski will be joined by former pitcher Rigo Beltran as the team’s pitching coach. Beltran makes his coaching debut after pitching 15 years professionally, including 78 appearances at the big league level from 1997-2004.

In addition, Luis Ortiz was promoted to Assistant Field Coordinator after joining the Tribe this year as a Cultural Development and Lower-Level Hitting Coordinator.

Mark Allen will serve as the pitching coach for the Rookie Arizona team over the summer while continuing his role as Area Scout in North Texas and Oklahoma prior to the draft.

Edwin Rodriguez moves to Special Assistant to Baseball Operations.
